Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. My son likes to go out in the wilderness with friends for a few days each year. With his hectic job and busy family life, I’m sure it helps him regroup. I used one of his pictures from this year’s trip as reference for this painting. I can certainly see why he likes these adventures.

I asked myself, “When can you call yourself an artist?”. The answer came when I realized that I was creating unique, exceptional works of art. Friends and family began asking me to do paintings for them, and it was then that I felt that I deserved the title—artist. I am a former teacher who has chosen to leave my profession to pursue a career in art. Although I love to teach, painting makes me feel alive - giving me a feeling of freedom and a sense of being in control. I find that it allows me to escape to a place that is both invigorating and peaceful, and that I am my absolute happiest when I am at my easel.
