Description
10% OF ALL THE PROCEEDS FROM THIS WORK OF ART WILL BE DONATED TO THE TENNESSEE WILDLIFE ASSOCIATION.
The first in my Tennessee Wild Life series, this white-tailed buck is an herbivore with a life span of 6 to 14 years. Although they are the smallest member of the deer family in North America, they are very fast and agile; capable of running up to 30 miles an hour and leaping as high as 10 feet, and as far as 30 feet.
Their name, white-tailed, refers to the white underside of their tails which they show and wag if they sense danger.
The buck grows antlers annually. They use their antlers to fight over territory during mating season. Their antlers normally fall off in the winter.
